my wish-i-had-time-to-read list, january 2016 ed.

So, I call myself "The Library Faerie." I work in a library. I read books to kids weekly. I do book clubs with school-age kids frequently. I have a *LIBRARY* in my *HOUSE.* I read books to my daughter every single day. I have an intense love of books that you can trace back to my childhood.

BUT.

I barely have time to read books for my own pleasure. And by barely, I mean I basically don't have ANY time to read my own books.

Being a grown-up blows sometimes.

One of my goals this year is to, some way, some how, figure out how to work reading back into my life. I know it will get marginally easier as Avery gets older. For now, I'd love the time to just read a book here or there.

My to-read list grows ever longer, and the speed at which it grows far outpaces my ability to hack away at it. That will never stop me from drooling over books and adding them to the list, though.

Without further ado, my wish-I-had-time-to-read list, January 2016 edition:

All the Birds in the Sky by Charlie Jane Anders

File under: fantasy, The Magicians-esque

The Velocipede Races by Emily June Street

File under: steampunk/Victorian, amazing cover, girl power, bikes, intriguing

Jane Steele by Lyndsay Faye

File under: historical, period drama, dark gothic retelling of Jane Eyre

Love, Lies, and Spies
by Cindy Anstey

File under: lovely cover, intriguing take on the fake-relationship trope, Victorian romance & adventure, sounds like a fun read

My Lady Jane by Cynthia Hand, Brody Ashton, and Jodi Meadows

File under: historical teen dramedy, sounds fun

I'm apparently on a period lit kick, or would be if I had time to be. Here's hoping maybe I'll have time to read at least one or two out of this list. If not anytime soon, then perhaps when Avery starts kindergarten...

What books do you want to read (or wish you had time to read) right now?
